Supporting families in the south west from pregnancy to postpartum...
About Me
What can I say about myself.
I was born and have lived my whole life in Bunbury. I adore the South West and feel we are so lucky to live so close to it all. Beaches, bush land, the city, wineries, rivers whatever we fancy is all in a day trips reach!
My whole life I knew two things I wanted to have babies and I wanted to be a teacher. I have always been a 'helper' and a ''carer'. So after high school I studied teaching. I thought nothing compared to watching students blossom socially, emotionally and academically right in front of me, but I was so wrong, next came my babies.
My husband and I have been together for 16 years this year, and we have two beautiful children who are 7 and 5. My children taught me so much about myself and made me think about community and the world in ways I had never before considered.
My first pregnancy, my son's birth and our postpartum sparked a new passion inside me. One I never could have seen coming. A passion to support women and their partners through their pregnancies and into their postpartum.
Over time this passion grew, and one day I saw the quote
"Be fearless in the pursuit of what sets your soul on fire"
I took the leap to train as a Birth Doula. I left my first client birth in awe at the power and beauty of witnessing birth, and I knew that I had found another way to feed my soul.
So that brings us to the now, I am Mel.
