Birth Time: the documentary header. Documentary Poster

What is Birth Time?

Birth Time is a documentary that takes a look at the Australian maternity system and the fact that 1 in 3 women report their birth as traumatic.

The first time I watched Birth Time I experienced a roller coaster of emotions, I felt sadness for the stories women were sharing, I got angry at the system,I cried tears of happiness and joy watching women birthing in their power, and I walked away with my passion for birth education roaring.

So much so, that I organised a second screening in Bunbury so more people could watch this incredible documentary.

The creators of Birth Time chose the cicada to be there symbol after a swarm of cicadas passed while filming, and they were so loud they could not hear each other speak and then their motto was born.

" Individually it can be difficult for our voices to be heard,

but together we can be deafening."

About Birth Time

Zoe Naylor, Jerusha Sutton and Jo Hunter embark on a mission to find out why an increasing number of women/people are emerging from their births physically and emotionally traumatised.

Their discoveries expose the truth and lead them to join the birth revolution and create this Birth Time education platform that hopes to change the face of maternity care across the world.
